National “13th Five-Year Plan” Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Exhibition: Cedar Electronics’ Constant Research and Development Promoting Upgrade of Display Technology 

From October 21 to 27, the National “13th Five-Year Plan” Science and Technology Innovation Achievement Exhibition co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Equipment Development Department of of Central Military Commission, the Science and Technology Commission of Central Military Commission, and Beijing Municipal People’s Government was successfully held in Beijing Exhibition Hall. There were 12 exhibition areas in this exhibition to comprehensively display the influential and representative innovation achievements made in various fields in the past five years. In this achievement exhibition, Cedar Electronics showcased the new result of the “13th Five-Year Plan” program- UHD ultra-high resolution large LED display, demonstrating again the strong innovation ability of the enterprise.

Scientific and technological innovation is the primary driving force for development, and the core optoelectronic device and high-end chip industries are the core resources to support the sustainable development of national economy and guarantee national strategic security. A series of scientific and technological achievements representing the top level of the industry, such as high-end equipment, electronic information, new display, appeared in this exhibition, fully showing the manufacturing of great powers and the essential equipment of the country. The flip chip COB large screen displayed in the exhibition area of Cedar Electronics this time is the transformation result of the “Strategically Advanced Electronic Materials” Project of the “13th Five-Year Plan” National Key R&D Program. The performance indicators of this achievement are superior to similar products in the industry, and the display effect is comparable to that of international first-class manufacturers such as Samsung and Sony.

Under the booming development of UHD display industry, the display products independently developed by Cedar Electronics have a good market development prospect. The screen adopts industry-leading technology and integrates all advantages of flip chip COB, and it can realize small pitch display. It can integrate 3D, VR, AR and other technologies to further cover production and life, and provide strong support for monitoring centers, telemedicine, video conferencing and emergencies. Last year, the product won the CIIF award of the 22nd China International Industry Fair by virtue of its display effect, and showed the strength and level of China’s intelligent manufacturing with the product as the window.

As an industry leader in flip chip COB technology, Cedar Electronics has been driving product development with innovative technology. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan “Key Technology Development and Application Demonstration of Ultra-high Density Micro-pitch LED Display” project launched in July 2017, Cedar Electronics has successively broken through major key technologies, product applications and supporting technologies, such as light-emitting chips, packaging materials and driving devices, successfully broken the international technological monopoly and blockade and filled the gap in UHD large display market, allowing China to occupy an absolute competitive advantage in large and super large display, and truly realizing that all the technologies are domestic, autonomous and controllable. Previously, Cedar Electronics was the first company to successfully develop a high-density full flip chip integrated package LED display prototype based on its technological advantages, and simultaneously realized the mass production of flip chip COB LED with a pixel pitch of 0.7mm to 2.5mm. The 2 series of 8 flip chip COB products with micro-pitch of 0.47mm developed according to market demand is actively promoting China’s LED display industry towards a high level.
